My grandmother told me never to write down what I wouldn’t want to be read in court.

So I paint.

I moved to Mobile, AL, from Los Angeles in April 2021. I had never visited and knew no one, yet something drew me there. Now, I truly feel like I am where I am supposed to be. I am a researcher and professor by day.

My art is an extension of the research I have done on maternal mental health. But it’s also about me, and trying to move through the beautiful sadness of this life.
